Agent for service of process for international financings and transactions

Many financing, guarantee and transaction agreements are governed by Austrian law or provide for jurisdiction in Vienna. Foreign parties then usually have to appoint an agent for service of process in Austria: a process agent who accepts court and out-of-court documents with legal effect on their behalf.

We act on an ongoing basis as process agent for the counterparties of several banks. The banks refer us to their borrowers, guarantors and investors based outside Austria.

Why a law firm

A process agent is more than a postal address. When a statement of claim, an acceleration notice or a demand arrives, time limits start running from that day. As a law firm, we recognise immediately what a document means and how urgent it is. On request, we also take on representation.
